APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The user's experience will be a memory leak of the 512
    and 2048 network memory sizes.  This can be seen via
    netstat -m.  The inuse column will grow and grow.  Using
    extended netstat will show high inuse counts for mbuf and
    mbufcluster.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • Memory leak in SEA, when adapter is not able to transmit
    the SEA fragmented packets.
    vioent is dropping vlan tagged packet size vlan tagged packet
    of size greater than MTU
    

Problem conclusion

  • Correct the code such that  SEA not leaks memory when adapter
    is not able to transmit the SEA fragmented packets.  Correct
    VEA to handle packet size vlan tagged packet of size greater
    than MTU
