APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Volume group timestamps may be found to be out of sync
when the passive node is rebooted following a C-SPOC
operation such as changing the filesystem size.

This APAR addresses a problem seen in AIX levels prior to
    6.1 TL8 and 7.1 TL2.

Local fix

  • Allow powerHA to synchronise the timestamps if
    verification
    finds an error.

Problem summary

  • Some chfs operations like shrinking a filesystem or changing
some attributes which are saved in the LV might leave the
remote node's ODM and on-disk timestamps out of sync, either
immediately, or after rebooting the remote node.
    .
This can cause HA to show a warning about the out of sync
    timestamps and prompt for recovery.

Problem conclusion

  • Add code to chfs to sync up remote node's ODM and on disk
timestamps, and ensure these are saved across reboot.
