Error description

  • LPM may fail for an NPIV client if the destination VIOS
is running 2.2.3.1. An error similar to the following
will be displayed after the migration fails:

HSCLA356 The RMC command issued to partition vio10
failed. This means that destination VIOS partition
vio10 cannot host the virtual adapter 4 on the
     migrating partition.
HSCLA29A The RMC command issued to partition vio10
     failed.

The detailed error will show messages similar to below:

     domain_id for fscsi0 is: 3
     GPN_FT failed for wwpn c0507605e4420003
     GPN_FT failure:
     cmd_rsp_code: 0x8001
     reason_code: 0x9
     reason_code_exp: 0x7
Target reject command 4 flags 2
fscsi0 is zoned such that it does not have access to the
same target ports as the source
     domain_id for fscsi1 is: 99
ERROR: Source has mapped port that has no zoned targets
but proto device fscsi1 has zoned targets
     Returning from npiv_dest_adapter rc=88

During validation checks, if any NPIV capable FC adapter
does not find the client's target devices zoned, we do
not proceed any further, and exit validation with rc=88.
This can happen in a multi SAN fabric environment, where
some FC adapters are connected to fabric A, and some FC
adapters are connected to fabric B.
