  • If an SVC LUN that is in use is unmapped, the AIX SCSI disk
driver may take a long time (several minutes) for I/O to fail.
This could lead to issues with applications or with shared
storage pools, if they are expecting failures to happen more
quickly.

Problem conclusion


    

  • Modified the PCM and SCSI disk driver to change the way that
they handle the particular SCSI status that the SVC device
returns when a LUN is unmapped on the SVC.
