Error description
AIX does not allow special characters in user or group names. When a non-AIX NFS server returns owner and owner.group names that have these special characters, commands on AIX NFSv4 client could fail. For example: # ls -ltr ls: 0653-341 The file ./X#FTDXZB.check does not exist. total 64 -rw-r--r-- 1 duncanx testdata 29666 03 May 2013 ISO-8859-1.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 sapadm nobody 0 15 May 08:55 SAPADM.check -rw-r--r-- 1 nobody nobody 0 15 May 08:55 DS0ADM.check The file "./X#FTDXZB.check" is owned by root.x#ftdxzb Since the group name contains invalid characters the translation to GID failed. This issue applies to NFSv4 only.
Local fix
None. Do not use invalid characters in the user/group names.
