APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The mkcluster command will fail when an hdiskpower is
    chosen for the repository disk and the underlying SAN
    is EMC CLARiiON or Invista.
    File syslog.caa will have messages like these -
    
    Could not create a disk UUID for device hdiskpower1
    
    Specified device, hdiskpower1, is not a supported type.
    
    mkcluster: Could not create cluster.  A system call
    received a parameter that is not valid.
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • mkcluster on Powerpath device with CLARiiON or Invista disks
    will fail.  syslog.caa may have the following messages:
    Could not create a disk UUID for device hdiskpower1
    Specified device, hdiskpower1, is not a supported type.
    mkcluster: Could not create cluster.  A system call
    received a parameter that is not valid.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Removed invalid check when validating inquiry data.
