IV50132: TCP REQUEST/RESPONSE STYLE COMMUNICATION MAY HANG AFTER ACK PKT.
Closed as fixed if next.
A tcp request/response style communication exchange may hang after a pure ACK packet is received and the application is about to send a new packet. An iptrace will show this type of pattern right before the exchange stops: request host1>host2 response host2>host1 ACK host1>host2 --- no further communications for this socket ---
This is a rare condition exposed by efix for defect 882715.
A tcp request/response style communication exchange may hang when application is about to send a new packet and a pure ACK packet is received. Very rare timing scenario exposes this problem.
This APAR is being closed FIN. This means that a solution to this APAR is expected to be delivered from IBM in a release (if any) to be available within the next 24 months.
