Error description

  • The Windows DHCP client sends a DHCP Discover message
containing both "option 77" and "option 55 (Parameter
    Request List)"
as the requested options to AIX DHCP server and expects
AIX DHCP server can return the values of the requested
    parameters back to the client.
But the Windows client receives the unexpected the value
of "option 77" is returned (echoed) back by AIX DHCP
    server
in the DHCP OFFER and ACK packages while the values for
    other
parameter options returned by the AIX server are correct
for the user class. For some reason this unexpected
    "option 77"
returned by server prevents Windows client from setting
any of the other options and causes Windows clients to
lose their entire IP configuration and disconnect from
    the network.
