APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • If a line in /etc/rc.tcpip is commented out with
    multiple #'s like this:
    
    ##start /usr/sbin/dpid2 "$src_running"
    
    Running 'aixpert -c -p' will result in the following
    error message in /etc/security/aixpert/check_report.txt:
    
    rctcpip.sh: Daemon dpid2's status should be
    
    
    This will not happen if there is just one #.
    

Local fix

  • To get around this, make sure there is only one #:
    #start...
    

Problem summary

  • The customer will an invalid error message in the
    check_report.txt for aixpert if there is more than one #
    in a comment in the /etc/rc.tcpip file.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Modified the rctcpip script to handle more than one # in a
    comment.
