Error description
The following messages were issued when a -START DB(DSNDB06) SPACE(*) was issued after a -STOP DB(DSNDB06) SPACE(*), A second -START DB command worked successfully. * STO DATABASE(DSNDB06) SPACE(*) DSN9022I . DSNTDDIS 'STOP DATABASE' NORMAL COMPLETION DSNT736I . ASYNCHRONOUS STOP DATABASE COMMAND HAS COMPLETED * sta database(dsndb06) space(*) DSNT501I . DSNIDBET RESOURCE UNAVAILABLE CORRELATION-ID=020.DBCMD 06 CONNECTION-ID=SS LUW-ID=* REASON 00C90081 TYPE 00000201 NAME DSNDB06 .DSNDSX01 DSNT500I . DSNTDDIS RESOURCE UNAVAILABLE REASON 00C90081 TYPE 00000201 NAME DSNDB06 .DSNDSX01 DSNT317I . DSNTDMI ANY USER-DEFINED INDEXES ON DSNDB06 COULD NOT BE STARTED DUE TO A RESOURCE UNAVAILABILITY ON DSNDB01 OR DSNDB06 * STA DATABASE(DSNDB06) SPACE(*) DSN9022I . DSNTDDIS 'START DATABASE' NORMAL COMPLETION * This is working as designed. DB2 410 added the ability to create user-defined indexes on DSNDB06. So in order to stop, start or display these indexes, we need to look at the catalog (which of course is in DSNDB06) to find them. In previous releases an internal table was used to locate the DBID/OBID for all objects in the catalog, avoiding access to the catalog. If the catalog is not available for any reason, a Resource unavailable message is issued and START DB command uses the internal table to find all the DB2 defined objects and issues MSGDSNT317 indicating user created objects are ignored. * The first START DB command does start the objects, except for user defined, so the second START command does not get any error messages. See PN83190 / UN92911 for additional information.
