This information is continued in II07866, II08170, II08225 and II08603. 5740xyr00 R310 =============================================================== Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Volume I Page: 1-43 In Figure 14, make all arrows in the diagram point both directions instead of one-way arrows. ================================================================ Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Volume I Page: 1-44 Remove section at bottom of page on "SAA LanguageAccess," both the heading and the paragraph below it. (Product withdrawn from IBM Marketing.) ================================================================ DB2 Admin. Guide Volume 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-12, table 3 Steps 3, 4 and 5 are listed in table 3 in the wrong order. The correct order is: step 3 - DSNTIJIN step 4 - DSNTIJID step 5 - DSNTIJUZ =============================================================== Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Vol. 1 Pages: 2-26 Change Description: In Table 17, change the value of 'Pages per track' for 9340-type DASD to '10'. =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Vol 1 Page Number: 2-28 Replace item number '2.' with '2. Records per page is FLOOR (usable page size / average record size) but cannot exceed 255 if compression is used or 127 otherwise.' ================================================================ Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Vol 1 Page Number: 2-29 Replace the second equation with: Usable page size = 4074 x .95 = 3870 bytes Records per page = FLOOR(3870 / 80) = 48 Pages used = 2 + CEILING(100000 / 48) = 2085 Total pages = FLOOR(2085 x 21 / 20) = 2189 Estimated number of kilobytes = 2189 x 4 = 8756 ================================================================ Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Pages: 2-36 Add this sentence the second-to-last paragraph: 'For Version 3, the default size for BP32K has been increased from 12 to 24 to support recovery. If you are migrating, you might need to increase the BP32K size you specified for Version 2 Release 3.' ================================================================ Admin. Guide Volumne 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-45, table 25 and table 26 Acronym DSCF is used in both tables under category type of working storage but is not defined. DSCF is another name for MSTR address space. DDF is another name for DIST address space. =============================================================== Admin. Guide Vol. 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-57 topic: Establishing SMP/E Data Sets for Two Releases The first paragraph in this section should be replaced with the following two paragraphs. "A single set of SMP/E zone structure can record ONLY one release of DB2. We strongly recommend that you maintain separate zone structures for both Version 3 and Version 2 Release 3 until you are sure that you will not fallback. The SMP/E jobs provided with DB2 assume that you will allocate a new set of SMP/E data sets for the new release. When you run your allocation job (DSNTIJAE), it creates a set of SMP/E data sets. If you chose to reuse your Version 2 Release 3 zone structure, you can run job DSNTIJUD to delete SMP/E data for Version 2 Release 3. However, after you run this job, you can NOT fallback." ================================================================ Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Pages: 2-57 In the first paragraph under 'SMP/E Step 2: Allocate Distribution and Target Libraries: DSNTIJAE' add: 'Do not modify the data definition statements for SDSNSAMP and SDSNCLST. These libraries must be defined as partitioned data sets (PDS) because installation processing uses a TSO edit subcommand that does not support the partitioned data set extended (PDSE) format.' ================================================================ Admin Guide Volume 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-60 SMP/E Step 6: Run the APPLY Job: DSNTIJAP, is missing some linkedit messages that will be resolved in batch job DSNTIJSU and therefore can be ignored at this time. The messages are: IEW2651i and IEW2646i. =============================================================== Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Pages: 2-78 Replace the first two paragraphs under '1. CATALOG ALIAS' with the following: Specify the alias of the VSAM integrated catalog facility user catalog or the name of the VSAM integrated catalog facility master catalog in which to catalog the DB2 VSAM data sets created during installation. VSAM Data Set Cataloging Options: The installa- tion jobs catalog the DB2 VSAM data sets. This includes recovery log, subsystem, and user data sets. You must create the catalog that defines these data sets through the VSAM integrated catalog facility. We recommend that you use an integrated catalog facility user catalog to catalog all DB2 objects because you can use aliases for user catalogs. When you use the CREATE STOGROUP statement, you might need to use an alias for the VCAT option, which must be a single-level 1 to 8 character name. You can use a master catalog, but only if the name of the master catalog is a single-level name of 1 to 8 characters. =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-101 Change Description: Under panel option 7, change 'CICS CSD library' to 'CICS system definition (CSD) file'. =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide Vol. 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-128 Replace the second and third paragraphs under 'DECIMAL ARITHMETIC' with: 'This installation option applies to dynamic SQL and provides the default for the DEC precompiler option. DEC15 is sufficient for most customers. Do not choose DEC31 unless you are certain that you need the extra precision. If you use DEC31, you are much more likely to get a bind error, particularly in division operations, See Chapter 3 of the 'SQL Reference' for information on arithmetic with two decimal operands.' =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-129 Change Description: Replace 'Note B' with: 'To change, edit the associated parameter in job DSNTIJUZ, the IRLM start procedure, and input member DSNTIDXA. Then, execute DSNTIJUZ and restart DB2.' =============================================================== Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Pages: 2-130 Replace the second paragraph under '3. RESOURCE TIMEOUT' with: 'Consider increasing this value if you are migrating and plan to make use of partition independence to run applications and utilities concurrently.' =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Vol 1 Page Number: 2-130 Replace the first two sentences under 4. TIME INTERVAL with: 'This option is used only for IMS IRLM data sharing, so accept the default. TIME INTERVAL is the number of milliseconds that the IRLM delays between each lock processing.' ================================================================ Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Vol 1 Page Number: 2-134 Replace the first two sentences under DEADLOCK CYCLE with: 'This option is used only for IMS IRLM data sharing, so accept the default. DEADLOCK CYCLE is the number of local deadlock cycles that must expire before the IRLM performs global deadlock detection processing.' ================================================================ Version 3 Book Title: DB2 Administration Guide, Vol. 1 Pages: 2-159 Replace the first sentence under '3. SORT POOL SIZE' with: 'This field specifies one-fourth the amount of storage needed for the sort pool as calculated by the CLIST. This value is multiplied by 4K during installation processing.' Replace the last sentence with: 'If you decide to change this field, estimate the sort pool value with the following formula: (16000 * (12 + sort key length + sort data length + 4 (if ESA))) / 4' =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-165 Add this sentence to the second paragraph on page 2-165: 'Two obsolete DB2 Version 2 Release 3 DSNZPARM parameters, MAXALLC and BUFFER, appear in job DSNTIJUZ. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-171 Change Description: Add this sentence to the third paragraph on page 2-171. 'You must not use secondary authorization IDs to perform any of the following installation steps.' =============================================================== DB2 Admin. Guide Volume 1 page 2-176 Modify the first sentence of the last paragraph as follows: 'Check the DEFINE CLUSTER statements in job DSNTIJIN to ensure that they allocate adequate DASD space for your system. See 'Improving DASD Utilization' on page 7-119 for guidance on allocating and extending data sets.' ================================================================ Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-176 Add this sentence to the last paragraph on page 2-176. 'Because these data sets are in use frequently, do not migrate them with DFSMShsm.' ================================================================ Admin. Guide Vol. 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-177 Add the following sentence to the end of Install Step 3: Define System Data Sets and Databases. Because these data sets are in use frequently, do not migrate them with DFSMShsm. =============================================================== Admin. Guide Vol. 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-184, figure 49 The fifth line of the figure listing status is incorrect. It should read: /* STATUS = Version 3, Release 1, level 0 =============================================================== Admin. Guide Vol. 1 SC26-4888-00 page 2-185, figure 50 The fifth line of the figure listing status is incorrect. It should read: /* STATUS = Version 3, Release 1, level 0 =============================================================== Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-187 Change Description: Delete that paragraph that begins with 'Because this is the first time DB2 Version 3 is started . . . ' ================================================================ Book Title: DB2 Admin. Guide, Vol. 1 Page Number: 2-199 Change Description: Add this sentence to the second paragraph on page 2-199.
