                Possible cause: SMF records being copied to dataset
                  with DCB=(RECFM=VB), correct DCB to
                  DCB=(RECFM=VBS)
        If records are truncated and by chance the number at the
        expected offset is smaller than the expected number, the PP
        continues processing. This can lead to unpredictable
        results like abends 0C9, 0C4, 0CB, etc.

          APAR OY28449 ADDS FIELD SMFNNSRL IN THE RMF PRODUCT
    HEADER OF EVERY RMF SMF RECORD. THE FIELD IS INTENDED TO BE
    INCREMENTED EACH TIME THE LAYOUT OF THE RECORD IS CHANGED.
    IT IS NEEDED MAINLY WHEN THE CHANGE WAS INTRODUCED BY A PTF
    AND IS NOT ACCOMPANIED BY A CHANGE IN THE RMF RELEASE LEVEL
    NUMBER. THE RMF POST PROCESSOR USES IT TO DISTINGUISH THE
    PTF LEVEL OF THE RMF THAT RECORDED THE RECORD, AND TO REJECT
    RECORDS FROM LEVELS THAT IT DOES NOT UNDERSTAND. CUSTOMER
    PROGRAMS THAT PROCESS RMF SMF RECORDS CAN OPTIONALLY USE IT
    FOR THE SAME PURPOSE. PTFS THAT CHANGE THIS FIELD WILL
    DOCUMENT WHAT VALUE THEY CHANGE IT TO. INITIALLY IT IS
    ZERO.
    EXAMPLE: IF THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE WAS RECEIVED:
             ERB257I : RECORDS WITH VERSION NUMBER 4.1.1-2 WERE
             FOUND IN THE INPUT DATA SET. THE EXPECTED VERSION
             NUMBER IS  4.1.2-0.
             THIS WOULD MEAN THAT THE RECORDS WERE AT THE
             OY29112 ESCON(SMFNNSRL=2) LEVEL BUT THE EXPECTED
             LEVEL IS AT THE OY28449 SRCL(SMFNNSRL=0) LEVEL.
             THIS MEANS THAT THE PTF FOR THE APAR OY29112 SHOULD
             BE APPLIED IF THESE RECORDS ARE TO BE PROCESSED.
