APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • SAS application requests all output records including
    control commands like Skip to Channel1 by SPLGOPT=SPLGOFCC
    and requests a restart to record #1.
    VSE/POWER bypasses control commands during restart processing
    and returns data buffer starting with 1. record with line/card
    movement.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All SAS applications performing Restart *
    * during SAS GET for output with SPLGOFCC *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When SAS application GETs LST or PUN *
    *                      output with OPT=CTLREC and RESTARTs ,   *
    * resulting data buffer may start after *
    *                      requested line.                         *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When SAS application performs RESTART during GET or GET BROWSE
    on LST or PUN queue entry, positioning skips control records.
    If OPT=CTLREC is set and requested position is record with
    Control Command, RESTART will instead position to next record
    with line/card movement after the control record.

Problem conclusion

  • IPW$$LW will now update record count for SAS application with
    OPT=CTLREC (SPLGOFCC=ON) and RESTART request.
