KEYLABEL keyword

Use this keyword to specify the encryption key label for encrypting dynamically allocated image copy data sets. The key label can be up to 64 bytes. This keyword is ignored if the ICEIN keyword is specified.

The KEYLABEL keyword is optional for REORG HRFSYSIN DD statements and is not applicable to UNLOAD HRFSYSIN DD statements.

Format:  KEYLABEL(keylabel)

Default value:  None.

IMS Online Reorganization Facility supports secondary indexing (for HISAM, HIDAM, HDAM, and SHISAM databases) and internal logical relationships (excluding external logical relationships). IMS Online Reorganization Facility can optionally create a standard HD unload data set for a database, and it also creates a standard image copy data set for all the reorganized databases that are registered as recoverable with DBRC.

IMS Online Reorganization Facility supports unloading HISAM, HIDAM, HDAM, SHISAM, PHDAM, and PHIDAM databases while the database remains online. It can unload a database that has logical relationships (including external logical relationships), but when it unloads logical child segments whose logical parent's concatenated keys (LPCKs) are virtual, it does not retrieve the LPCKs.

Explanation: The specified DBD has a logical relationship to a different DBD. This type of relationship is not supported by the REORG command of IMS Online Reorganization Facility; therefore, the specified DBD cannot be reorganized with IMS Online Reorganization Facility.

READON keyword

Use this keyword to specify whether to allow read-only DL/I batch jobs to access the database which the IMS Online Reorganization Facility job is processing.

Specify one of the following values:

READON(Y)

IMS Online Reorganization Facility turns on the READ ONLY flag in DBRC for the target database at the end of the Verification phase. Read-only DL/I batch jobs are allowed to access the database before the Takeover phase. If a read-only DL/I batch job is running when the IMS Online Reorganization Facility job is ready for Takeover, IMS Online Reorganzation Facility makes retry attempts every 10 seconds up to the number specified by the DLIRETRY base configuration parameter. When the number is exceeded, the IMS Online Reorganization Facility job stops.

Attention: Because IMS Online Reorganization Facility turns on the READ ONLY flag, online subsystems that have not been authorized before the IMS Online Reorganization Facility job started are prevented from updates during the reorganization.

READON(N)

IMS Online Reorganization Facility turns on the REORG INTENT flag in DBRC for the target database at the end of the Verification phase. No DL/I batch jobs are allowed to access the database during the reorganization.

This keyword specifies the maximum number of GDG (generation data group) data sets. The keyword value is applied when IMS Online Reorganization Facility is requested to automatically define a GDG base for image copy data sets or log data sets.


The GDGLIMIT keyword is optional for REORG HRFSYSIN DD statements and is not applicable to UNLOAD HRFSYSIN DD statements.

The value specified on this keyword is used when both of the following conditions are true:

  • IMS Online Reorganization Facility is requested to dynamically allocate a GDG data set as an image copy data set or a log data set.
  • A GDG base for the specified GDG data set does not exist.

Dynamic allocation of a GDG data set is requested if one or more of the following conditions are true:

  • ICDYN(Y) and ICTRLR(1) are specified.
  • ICDYN(Y) is specified, and the &GDG variable is specified for the IC1DSN keyword, the IC2DSN keyword, or for both keywords.
  • IEFRDER DD is not specified, and the &GDG variable is specified for the LOG1DSN keyword, the LOG2DSN keyword, or for both keywords.

Before allocating a GDG data set, IMS Online Reorganization Facility verifies the existence of a GDG base. If a GDG base does not exist, IMS Online Reorganization Facility automatically defines one by using the GDGLIMIT keyword value as the number of generations to keep. You cannot specify different values for image copy data sets and log data sets.

Use this keyword to identify a model for the GDG image copy data sets.

The GDGMODEL keyword is optional for REORG HRFSYSIN DD statements, and is not applicable to UNLOAD HRFSYSIN DD statements.

The value specified on this keyword is used only when both of the following conditions are true:

  • A GDG is requested for an image copy data set.
  • IMS Online Reorganization Facility dynamically allocates the image copy data set.

The GDG model name (gdgmodel) must be the name of a cataloged image copy data set. This keyword is not applicable to GDG log data sets.

The following example shows how to request a GDG log data set with the LOG1DSN keyword:

LOG1DSN(HLQ1.HLQ2.&DBD.LOG1.&GDG)

A new GDG log data set is created in the following GDG:

HLQ1.HLQ2.MYDBD.LOG1

If a GDG base with this name does not exist, IMS Online Reorganization Facility automatically defines it and applies the GDGLIMIT keyword value as the number of generations to keep.
