Failed email count does not get captured in DCO variable

Troubleshooting

Problem

When there is an email with problematic attachment and you run the im_scan action to test the application, the failed email count does not reflect in the logs.

Symptom

The above problem arises when you execute the following steps:

  1. Create a Datacap application.
  2. Create a ruleset and add different actions related to Imail actions which are relevant to your application.
  3. Add action im_types and specify extensions that need to be included for ingestion.
  4. Create an email with problematic attachment.
  5. Run the im_scan action to test the application and check whether the failed email count is showing in the logs
  6. Check whether email gets moved to the failed folder.

Resolving The Problem

The number of emails failed to be scanned into the batch, due to the issues with email or attachments are stored in newly created variable: FailedEmailCount.
