Question
Is it possible to install IBM® Rational® PurifyPlus® 7 iFix package on Unix and Linux without the base and previous iFix patches installed?
Answer
On Unix/Linux platforms, it is possible to install any Rational PurifyPlus 7 iFix patch without installing the base version and any previous iFix patches.
In addition to this, is also possible to have multiple versions of PurifyPlus installed side by side. This includes both the base version and iFix patches. To switch the active version of PurifyPlus among all the installed, it can be done by sourcing the script purifyplus_setup.sh (or .csh) under each of the PurifyPlus home directories.
