Location of the Rational installation logs for versions 2003.06 and 7.0

You can identify the installation user %temp% directory through either of the following two methods:

Method 1:

1. Open a command prompt through Start > Run... and entering CMD
2. At the command prompt enter the following command and hit enter:
   echo %temp%
3. The result of the previous command will look like the following:
   
C:\DOCUME~1\<userName>\LOCALS~1\Temp

   Which translates to:
   
C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Temp

   

1. Right click My Computer and select Properties
2. Select the Advanced Tab and then select the Environment Variables
3. Review the TMPDIR System variable for the installation users %temp% directory
   
   

• At a minimum the following files are listed:
  
rational_eventhandler.log
rational_install.log
RSSetup.log
(this may have a different date)
• There may be additional logs such as:
  
response.ini
clearquest_installation.log
MSI*.log
(MSI72025.log for example)
