Abstract
IBM Rational PurifyPlus 7.0.1 will not support Java memory and performance profiling.
 
Content
PurifyPlus will no longer include Java memory and performance profiling capabilities starting with PurifyPlus 7.0.1 (scheduled for release in November, 2009). Support for Java memory and performance profiling will be provided in PurifyPlus 7.0 through September 1, 2010.

The following products are affected by this change:

  • IBM Rational PurifyPlus for Windows
  • IBM Rational Purify for Windows
  • IBM Rational PurifyPlus for Linux and UNIX (with the exception of PureCoverage)
  • IBM Rational PurifyPlus Enterprise Edition

PurifyPlus will continue to support Java code coverage (from the PureCoverage component).

PurifyPlus will continue to support the monitoring of C/C++ code invoked through the Java Native Interface (JNI) for all components (Purify, Quantify, and PureCoverage).

Customers looking for Java memory and performance profiling should consider IBM Rational Application Developer, which contains the same functionality.
