Required hard disk space for ClearQuest installation

Question
How much hard drive space does an IBM Rational ClearQuest 7.0.1.x installation activity use?
 
Answer
ClearQuest installs files at the installation directory (\Program files\Rational), and also creates some files in other directories such as the TEMP directory and C:\Windows.

Below is the guideline how much space is consumed by a ClearQuest 7.0.1.x installation from a CD image:

ClearQuest V7.0.1
  1. ClearQuest client 1
    Total 1.8GB
    (including 1.5GB in Rational folder)

  2. ClearQuest Web server 2
    Total 2.7GB
    (including 2.1GB in Rational folder)


ClearQuest 7.0.1 Fixpack01 (7.0.1.1)

Following space will be consumed on top of existing 7.0.1 installation.
  1. ClearQuest client 1
    Total 1.7GB
    (including 80MB in Rational folder)

  2. ClearQuest Web server 2
    Total1.8GB
    (including 60MB in Rational folder)


ClearQuest 7.0.1.1 iFix02

Following space will be consumed on top of existing 7.0.1.1 installation.
  1. ClearQuest client 1
    Total 450MB
    (including 0.5MB in Rational folder)

  2. ClearQuest Web server 2
    Total 450MB
    (including 0.5MB in Rational folder)


ClearQuest 7.0.1 Fixpack02 (7.0.1.2)

Following space will be consumed on top of existing 7.0.1.1 installation.
  1. ClearQuest client 1
    Total 1.3GB
    (including 0.1MB in Rational folder)

  2. ClearQuest Web server 2
    Total 1.3GB
    (including 0.1MB in Rational folder)


Note 1: No components are selected when installing (Default client only).

Note 2: All the components except "Shipping Server" are selected when installing.


Notes:

  • Adding to the above disk space, up to 1GB of additional space is required for temporary working files, which are deleted at completion of the installation.
  • If you upgrade a client installation using a release area, much less space is used as compared to a CD image.
