Microsoft Windows 2008 Platform does not support Authorized User (Nodelocked) Licenses

Abstract
This technote states that using Authorized User (Nodelocked) licenses with IBM Rational products on a Microsoft Windows 2008 operating system are not supported. You must use floating licenses on Microsoft Windows 2008.

When trying to import and use an Authorized User (Nodelocked) license with IBM Rational products on a Microsoft Windows 2008 operating system, you will receive the following error message:<code>]
    This license request requires a license server and one has not been specified. Start the License Key Administrator and specify a server name.

The Microsoft Windows 2008 platform is currently not a supported platform of Flexlm and the licensing code does not support Microsoft Windows 2008.

As a workaround, you can use a floating license or use a different operating system.

Contact IBM Rational support for questions or concerns regarding this work-around and make sure to refer to this TechNote.

IBM Rational support will only be able to provide you with temporary licenses to allow you to upgrade to Floating licenses or to set up a different operating system to work with Nodelocked licenses.

You can also contact your IBM Rational Sales Rep/Account Manager to ask about available options to you.

Currently it is unknown in which release a fix will be implemented and we do not know when it can be expected.
