PK78700: 'cleartool diff' inappropriately logs 'Warning: Directory has mu ltiple names for the same object ...'

Error description

• In ClearCase 7.0.1.3 the following message was added to the dire
  ctory diff/merge tool,
  for situations where there are conflicting merge points.
  
  'Warning: Directory has multiple names for the same object--merg
  es must be carefully inspected because automatic decisions are n
  ot reliable.'
  
  However, the message gets logged for many cases where there are
  no objects with multiple names.
  
  
  Steps to Reproduce:
  
  cleartool co -nc .
  cleartool mkdir -nc foo
  cleartool ci -nc .
  cd foo
  
  echo test data ? a.txt
  cleartool mkelem -ci -c 'new file' a.txt
  cleartool diff -pre .
  
  echo test data ? b.txt
  cleartool mkelem -ci -c 'new file' b.txt
  cleartool diff -pre .
  
  cleartool ci -nc .
  cd ..
  
  Workaround:
  
  Ignore the message
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• ClearCase 7.0.1.3 incorrectly warns about "multiple names
  for the same object" when performing simple merge and diff
  operations on directory elements
  

Problem conclusion

• A fix is available in ClearCase versions 7.0.0.6, 7.0.1.5
  and 7.1.0.2
