How do you configure the IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) object map to use different or additional recognition properties?
Cause
RFT recognizes objects through a selection of weighted property values. In conditions where the default settings are not strong enough for recognition, you can configure the object map to use additional properties.
Answer
Consider the following steps.
- Start your application.
- Open the object map window for the object that you need to modify.
- Right-click in the object map window on the relevant object, and click Update Recognition Properties... .
If RFT recognizes the object, RFT outlines the object for a while. Otherwise, the object selection window comes up. The you must to drag the selection hand to the relevant control in your application.
- Double-click the new property to choose from the All Active Properties list the one you want to add for recognition.
