Error description
The ROTATION option of the N_UP PLACE subcommand was implemented incorrectly in original microcode for the AFCCU printers. The implementation is corrected with a fix to microcode 6.121 and is correct in all 8.xxx level microcode. The ROTATION option is used to rotate the page and any overlays specified with the N_UP PLACE subcommand. In the correct implementation, the origin of the page and overlays is placed relative to the partition origin before the rotation is applied. The page and the overlays are then rotated around their origin point. This is described and illustrated in "IBM PPFA User's Guide" S544-5284-01, in the description of the ROTATION option in Chapter 8 page 143. The incorrect implementation rotates the origin of the partition before the page is placed. Below is an example of correct and incorrect implementation. Any FORMDEFs which were designed using N_UP ROTATION on early microcode must be changed to reflect the correct implementation when microcode is updated. They print the incorrect implementation correctly. When that same job using that formdef is tried on an AFCCU 2 printer the page rotates outside the valid printable area. msgaps788i msgaps832i sns08c1 The AFCCU 2 PRINTERS ( D/T3130 R2 ) were corrected to use the correct implementation. The formdef needs to be changed per the PPFA's User guide.
