'Unable to load frame's content: Formula Error' when viewing inbox or 'Error fixing view XYZ in mailfile.nsf : Formula Error' when running fixup
When viewing your Lotus Notes inbox, you see the error: "Unable to load frame's content: Formula Error", or when running fixup you see "Error fixing view XYZ in mailfile.nsf : Formula Error".
If you do not currently use mail policies, or you do use mail policies but do not configure attention indicators, then you will not be impacted by these issues.
If you do use mail policies to configure attention indicators, you may experience these issues in either of the following upgrade scenarios.
Scenario 1: You upgrade 6.5.x mail files to 8.5 template and do not resave mail preferences. Then you apply an 8.5 mail policy with attention indicators configured.
Scenario 2: You apply an 8.5 mail policy with attention indicators configured to 6.5.x mail files and then upgrade to 8.5 mail template.
Resolving the problem
The issue described above in scenario 1 was tracked as SPR# JCIK7PFGCT and fixed in Fix Pack 1 for Notes/Domino 8.5.
If you have already upgraded and encounter either issue, as a workaround you can disable message attention indicators in Notes 8.5 or reset the colors to the default in Notes 7.x or 8.0.x.
If you cannot open the database at all due to the error: "Formula Error", as a workaround open the database in Domino Designer and change the default view that is opened from the Inbox to another view.
