Question
IBM® Lotus® Sametime® 7.5.1 Cumulative Fix 2 (CF2) is available.
 
Answer
CF2 contains important fixes and is highly recommended for all Sametime 7.5.1 installations.

  • This release consists of updates to the Sametime 7.5.1 server, the Sametime Connect 7.5.1 client, and the separate Community Services multiplexer applications. Lotus Sametime Gateway and the Lotus Enterprise Meeting Server have not been modified.

  • To view the list of of fixes included in 7.5.1 CF2, see the Lotus Sametime Fix List.

  • You will need an IBM ID and password to download the CF2 updates. If necessary, register for one.

  • To download Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 CF2, see IBM Fix Central. Select the following:

      Product Family: Lotus
      Product: Lotus Sametime
      Installed version: 7.5.1.0 or 7.5.1.1
      Platforms: All

    Sign on using your IBM ID and browse the available fixes. Select fixes from the list that are appropriate for your Sametime installation and download them.
  • Detailed information about Sametime 7.5.1 CF2 and installation instructions for all of the updates (server, client and separate Community Services multiplexer) are documented in the "Readme for IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 CF2", which is available in the Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 Information Center.

Server updates

  • The following CF2 updates are available on Fix Central for the Sametime server:
      ST-7.5.1.2-Windows_Server-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-AIX_Server-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-Linux_Server-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-Solaris_Server-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-i5OS_Server-CF2
  • The CF2 server updates can be installed on either Sametime 7.5.1 or 7.5.1 CF1 installations. CF2 can also be installed on the Instant Messaging Limited Use version of Sametime.
  • For Windows, AIX, Solaris, and Linux, install Sametime 7.5.1 CF2 after configuring your Sametime server. To determine whether Sametime 7.5.1 CF2 is installed, check the contents of buildinfo.txt in the domino/html/sametime subdirectory of the Sametime server data directory
  • For i5/OS, install Sametime 7.5.1 CF2 at any time after installing the Sametime 7.5.1 product, before or after configuring your Sametime server. To determine whether Sametime 7.5.1 CF2 is installed, use the DSPPTF command to check whether PTF # ST751F2 is applied to the Sametime product (5724J23). 7.5.1 CF2 includes updates necessary to run Sametime 7.5.1 on IBM i V6R1 and supersedes the previously available individual fix for this purpose (ST-7.5.1.1-i5OS-Enable_V6R1).

Client updates
  • The following CF2 updates are available on Fix Central for the Sametime Connect client:
      ST-7.5.1.2-Windows_Client-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-Linux_Client-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-MaxOSX_Client-CF2
  • Each of the CF2 client downloads includes a full 7.5.1 CF2 client installation package that can be used to install the Sametime Connect client for the first time or to update an existing Sametime Connect installation (6.5.1 or later). It can also be copied to the Sametime server for download by users.

    In some situations, the earlier version of the client must be uninstalled before installing the 7.5.1 CF2 version. For detailed instructions, see the "Readme for IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 CF2."


Separate Community Services multiplexer updates
  • The following CF2 updates are available on Fix Central for a Sametime Community Services multiplexer running on a separate machine from the Sametime server:
      ST-7.5.1.2-Windows_Mux-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-AIX_Mux-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-Linux_Mux-CF2
      ST-7.5.1.2-Solaris_Mux-CF2
  • Installation instructions are available in the "Readme for IBM Lotus Sametime 7.5.1 CF2."
