Question

You would like to obtain the HTML code of a web page via LotusScript so you can parse through it. How can the HTML code of a web page be retrieved via LotusScript?

Answer

This can be accomplished with the getDocumentByURL method. This method will return a NotesDocument object with the page's HTML code in the body field of the document. This can be retrieved through the following example:


Note that the Web Retriever task must be loaded on the server if it is run on a scheduled basis. This can also be accomplished via Java Classes. For more information, refer to the technote "A Java Alternative to the GetDocumentByURL LotusScript Method" (#1105866).
