DB2 V9.5 support announcement
Dassault Systèmes and IBM announce the support of IBM DB2 UDB V9.5. This support is effective immediately for the following list of products:
· ENOVIA VPM Product Editor server products and ENOVIA VPM Navigator server products with V5R18GA as minimum supported level
IBM DB2 UDB v9.5 support requires the following minimum software level : IBM DB2 UDB V9.5 FP3a
Certified Platforms
Certification of IBM DB2 UDB V9.5 has been run using the above Software prerequisites installed on the DB2 server :
· AIX 6.1 Technology Level 02 GA
· SUN Solaris 10 HW 03/05 (SPARC)
· Windows XP SP2
Refer to IBM DB2 UDB documentation for the list of Operating System pre-requisite patches required.
Compatible Platforms
If the customer wants to run the DB2 V9.5 server on a different platform than the ones DS certified (for example on AIX 5.3 versus AIX 6.1, which was certified), this platform (AIX 5.3) is considered a Compatible Platform.
A Compatible Platform or Configuration has passed minimal or no testing at any level by Dassault Systèmes and the environment is most likely not available as a configured environment in Dassault Systèmes lab. However, relying upon the platform vendor's upward compatibility rules or support policy, there is no known technical reason why Dassault Systèmes products will not work on a Compatible Platform or Configuration.
It is specifically understood that Dassault Systèmes will assist customers with support of Dassault Systèmes products. However, the customer remains fully responsible to maintain continuous support arrangements, relationship and contacts with third-party providers of any elements of a platform to resolve issues related to third party provider's products.
If running a Configuration that is not certified and a mutual agreement is reached that the problem is not specifically related to the Configuration, diagnostics can proceed as if it is a supported Configuration. The drawback is that Dassault Systèmes Support may have to work from the certified Configuration and this may add time to the overall diagnosing and resolution of the problem compared to working from a certified Configuration.
Customers also must understand that Dassault Systèmes makes no guarantees with regard to resolving issues that are platform-specific on Compatible Platforms.
Known limitations
On Windows V5 server installations, installation of IBM DB2 UDB followed by V5R18 installation is not supported. However upgrading an existing V5R18 installation to DB2 9.5 is supported.

LUM46813-offline_mig tool
Note for LUM License Administrators:
As of November 03, 2008 the LUM (i4_offline_mig) 4.6.8.2 Tool is obsolete except for use with SGI and supported levels of CATIA for that platform. The differences between i4_offline_mig version 4.6.8.2 and 4.6.8.13 are very small (the most important thing is porting to windows 64 bit). The LUM46813-offline_mig tool represents an improved version.
Use this tool anytime you need to start using your concurrent licenses in offline mode.
Download the version for your specific platform into the LUM installation directory from which you run your LUM commands e.g. like i4cfg or i4blt).
Run the command: LUM46813-offline_mig
This will translate all of your V5 Concurrent licenses into Concurrent-Offline licenses, ready to be extracted by your users to run CATIA on disconnected mobile computers.
The LUM46813-offline_mig can be run repeatedly, for example after new concurrent licenses are enrolled.

LUM High Availability Licensing
Dassault Systèmes and IBM announce support of LUM High Availability Licensing (also called HAL) with CATIA Version 4. This support is effective immediately on following minimum software levels: CATIA Version 4 Release 2.2 Refresh 1 LUM 4.5.8 (needs to be installed on each LUM server belonging to an HAL cluster); LUM software is available for download, at no charge, from http://www.ibm.com/software/is/lum/download.html with following limitations:
Only LUM Direct Binding is supported.
LUM Name Space Binding is not supported. Only passive HAL mode is supported: if a LUM server shuts down, then the license granted by this server to a V4 session becomes available from another LUM server, but the user must stop the V4 session and restart another one to get this license. The active HAL mode is not supported: it is not possible to continue to work transparently with the same V4 session if the server granting the license shuts down. Download LUM software

LUM (i4_offline_mig) 4.6.8.2 Tool
Note for LUM License Administrators:
The following tool represents an improved version of the same tool shipped on the LUM CD with R13 products. Use this tool anytime you need to start using your concurrent licenses in offline mode.
Download the version for your specific platform into the LUM installation directory from which you run your LUM commands e.g. like i4cfg or i4blt).
Run the command: i4_offline_mig This will translate all of your V5 Concurrent licenses into Concurrent-Offline licenses, ready to be extracted by your users to run V5R13 on disconnected mobile computers.
The i4_offline_mig can be run repeatedly, for example after new concurrent licenses are enrolled.
If you experience problems with the original tool from the CD, like non-transformed licenses, or licenses your users are not able to extract, the problem might be fixed running this new version of i4_offline_mig again. Download LUM (i4_offline_mig) 4.6.8.2 Tool

This means that operations or functions, that involves compiling objects in an HP-UX 11 execution environment, and linking them with objects built on HP-UX 10.20 (such as CATIA objects delivered for development purposes), are not supported. The impacted products include development of CATGEO based executables or GII functions. Such development activities based on CATIA APIs need to be carried on HP-UX 10.20 systems, then copied in HP-UX 11.11 environments for execution. For activities such as installation of CATIA.Data Management product or ENOVIAVPM which includes compilations and link-editing of connection modules or user-exits, the above restriction also applies.
