APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Storage growth in UTILPVTS SPANC pool due to Coupling Facility
  Parameter Lists ( CFPL ) not being freed.
  IST663I BIND failure messages with sense code 08120000,
  INIT OTHER failure messages with sense code 08120011,
  or IST565I messages may be issued if unable to allocate
  more UTILPVTS storage for the CFPL control blocks.

  *                      CFPLs.                                  *

  The problem is summarized as follows:
  1. An application is set up to use generic resources.
  2. The application issues the CHANGE OPTCD=ENDAFFIN API
     macroinstruction to VTAM after ending a session.
  3. The SPT macro issued by ISTLUCCG does not find any SPTEs,
     so a CFSPL and CFPL are queued over to the asynchronous
     PAB to search for additional SPTEs.
  4. When the search is complete, the CFPL is not freed.
  5. Over time, the amount of storage consumed by the CFPLs
     increases and a storage shortage occurs with various
     other symptoms.
  

Problem conclusion

• ISTLUCCG is updated to free the CFPL when the
  search for SPTEs is complete.
