Error description
In this case a V NET,ACT,ID=appl_major_node,UPDATE=ALL was issued after removing some of the minor nodes. The abend0c4 occurred because the RCPSRLBP field pointed to freed storage. This field was not cleared when the UPDATE=ALL was done. Additional Symptoms: ABEND0C4 in ISTSCSRJ +X'2B6'.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All who delete APPLs with V ACT,UPDATE=ALL. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND0C4 in ISTSSCQ2 because the * * registration list chain pointer in * * an APPL, RCPSRLBP, pointed to freed * * storage after other APPLs were deleted * * with V ACT,ID=appl_majnode,UPDATE=ALL. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If an APPL defaults to or is defined with REGISTER=CDSERVR (or defined with REGISTER=NETSRVR on an end node), it is added to a registration list in the RDTE representing the APPL major node when the APPL is activated. These APPLs are then registered to the Directory Services database - the central directory server in the case of APPLs on a network node, or the network node server in the case of APPLs on an end node. However, when an APPL is deleted from the application major node with VARY ACT,ID=appl_majnode,UPDATE=ALL the storage is freed without removing it from the registration list. This can result in abends when attempting to access an APPL via the registration list. NOTE: Changing the name of an APPL is the equivalent of adding an APPL with the new name and deleting the APPL with the old name, so this problem can also occur with a name change.
Problem conclusion
Module ISTSDCLL is changed to delete the directory services registration and remove an APPL from the registration list when it is deleted with VARY ACT,UPDATE=ALL.
