OA24330: MODIFY VTAMOPTS,SNAMGMT= COMMAND DOES NOT INITIALIZE OR CLOSE THE SERVER SOCKET

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as unreproducible in next release.

Error description

• MODIFY VTAMOPTS,SNAMGMT= command does not cause the SNAMGMT
  server socket to be initialized or closed, even though
  IST223I MODIFY VTAMOPTS COMMAND COMPLETE is received and a
  DISPLAY VTAMOPTS,OPTION=SNAMGMT shows the correct value for the
  start option.
  
  If you modify the start option to SNAMGMT=YES, the following
  message should be seen, but is not:
  IST1925I  SOCKET OPENED BY SNAMGMT SERVER SUBTASK
  
  If you modify the start option to SNAMGMT=NO, the following
  message should be seen, but is not:
  IST1930I  SOCKET CLOSED BY SNAMGMT SERVER SUBTASK
  

Local fix

• Set the SNAMGMT start option to the desired value in the
  ATCSTRxx start list, rather than changing it with the MODIFY
  VTAMOPTS command.

  initialize the SNAMGMT server socket, the command
  appears to work. However, the initialization message
  is not received:

  When a MODIFY VTAMOPTS,SNAMGMT=NO command is entered to
  close the SNAMGMT server socket, the command appears to
  work. However, the socket closed message is not received:
  IST1930I SOCKET CLOSED BY SNAMGMT SERVER SUBTASK
