Error description

• The number of MNPS recoveries that can be done is limited due
  to VTAM's use of data spaces.

Problem summary

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Multiple MNPS recoveries are being      *
  *                      done on a VTAM when message             *
  *                      IST967I ALESERV ADD FAILED is seen      *
  *                      on the console and a recovery OPEN      *
  *                      fails.                                  *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  The problem is summarized as follows:
  1. Many MNPS applications (over 450) are open on a VTAM.
  2. The VTAM is canceled and the MNPS applications go into
     Recovery Pending state.
  3. The VTAM is restarted and the MNPS applications begin to
     open their ACBs, which starts MNPS recovery processing.
  4. After the 450th ACB is open, IST967I is issued indicating
     that ALESERV ADD failed.  The OPEN fails and MNPS recovery
     is not possible on this VTAM anymore.
  

Problem conclusion

• To resolve this problem, the following changes have been made:
  
  ISTRVMDL is updated to delete the data space used for recovery
  when there are a small number of sessions involved in the
  recovery.
  
  ISTDSCFD is updated to add the TTOKEN parameter to the DSPSERV
  so the DSPSERV can be issued while running on the RVM PAB.
  
  ISTRVMAL is updated to ensure that no more than 400 RVM PABs
  are running at the same time.
  
  ISTOCCMO is included for maintenance purposes only.
