You will find information about how to research common problems and things you can do to solve your problem, as well as educate yourself in the workings of z/OS Communications Server.
On the IP side, there are numerous trouble-shooting guides on a variety of topics, including:
- PING failures
- device trouble (what you can do when devices fail to start or fail)
- how to solve secure Telnet problems
- what to do when you can't establish a Telnet connection.
On the SNA side, there are:
- Tutorials that focus on how to perform searches in mixed APPN and subarea networks
- Recommendations and limitations of APPN configurations
- A link to a white paper that addresses how to adapt SNA applications in an IP world
- A trouble-shooting guide on border nodes that tells you what to do when VTAM has problems locating resources in border node configurations.
Installation instructions - Download the attached file.
- Install the file. The package is compressed in ZIP format. You can install this package on your own system, or on a server. Decide where you want to put the files and extract them with the 'create directory' option. Once the extraction is complete, use a web browser to open the index.html file.
