Problem(Abstract)
When translating data from the JES spool file, the code page CSSMTP uses is determined by the code page provided in the TRANSLATE statement.
Cause
If you are using a different character in your code page in place of the at sign (@), such as the section sign in code page IBM- 273 at codepoint x'7C', there will be a problem because CSSMTP will correctly maintain the section sign character and will not replace it with the at sign (@). This will cause a problem with mailbox address strings containing the section sign character instead of @ .
Resolving the problem
You should be using the at sign (@) from the code page that you are providing in the TRANSLATE statement for CSSMTP. There is a list of standardized code pages used by CSSMTP; see the
IP Configuration Reference for the list of supported code pages. A z/OS Communications Server requirement (MR1009091825) is currently open to request that CSSMTP handle a customized code page. Contact Communications Server L2 support to be added to the interested parties of the requirement.
