Index: App Connect Enterprise and IBM Integration Bus trace directions

Education

Abstract

Traces capture diagnostic information required for problem solving.
This document is a collection of documents that provide instructions for gathering various traces on App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and related products/technologies.

Content

These traces are available for App Connect Enterprise (ACE) v11 and v12.
Integration Node
An Integration Node "admin agent" manages Integration Servers. It is also called a "broker" or "bipbroker" process.
Integration Server
An Integration Server runs message flows. It is also known as an "Execution Group" or "DataFlowEngine" process.
HTTP Listener
The HTTP Listener is also known as the "broker-wide" listener or "biphttplistener" process.
MQTT Server
An MQTT Server is the 'bipMQTT' process.
Switch Server
The Switch Server is used for callable message flows.
Commands
The ACE command-line commands can be traced either as a flag on the command or with a "Utility" trace.
Databases
Message flows can connect to a database via either JDBC or ODBC.
Security
Java™ Secure Socket Extension (JSSE) is used in ACE for the HTTPRequest and SOAPRequest nodes.
OpenSSL technology is used in ACE for the embedded and Node HTTP listeners.
Class loading
The Int.Server loads Java™ classes, as needed, during startup and runtime.
Java
Many IIB components utilize a JVM.
These traces are available for IBM Integration Bus (IIB) v10 and are also suitable for some earlier versions.

Adapters
Message flows can connect to an external SAP® system.
Use RFC traces to track the remote calls of an application to an SAP® System.
