Fix Pack 9.0.0.4 FAQs

Q. Why was Fix Pack 4 withdrawn?

A. Fix Pack 4 was withdrawn following the discovery of multiple deploy and ESQL regressions. The resolution of some of these regressions is complex and not suitable for being supplied as an interim fix. The full Fix Pack process was deemed most appropriate to deliver these fixes to customers and ensure the least customer impact and risk.

Q. How do I know if I'm affected?

A. The fix list for Fix Pack 5 can be found on the following URL:

http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg27040484#5_0

The relevant ESQL and deploy APARs can be seen under the Runtime Message Transformation and Runtime Infrastructure sections: Check the Error description and Problem summary for the APARs to assess whether they affect your usage of IBM Integration Bus.

Q. What if I'm already using Fix Pack 4 and experiencing no issues?

A. You can keep using Fix Pack 4 and will still receive support although we strongly recommend you plan to upgrade to Fix Pack 5 as soon as is conveniently possible.
Some of the problems are not encountered until a restart of the integration node is performed or a new broker archive file is deployed. It is therefore possible that a system which is currently experiencing no issues is impacted by a future configuration change or restart.

Q. Will IBM still support me in using Fix Pack 4?

A. You can keep using Fix Pack 4 and will still receive support although we strongly recommend you plan to upgrade to Fix Pack 5 as soon as is conveniently possible.

Q. Will IBM still supply interim fixes on Fix Pack 4?

A. Interim fixes will be supplied for Fix Pack 4 where possible, but if you encounter one of the complex regressions which caused Fix Pack 4 to be withdrawn then you may be required to upgrade to Fix Pack 5.
