What could happen if I fail to update my systems?
The Broker will suffer unpredictable results if operating in a time zone affected by these DST changes.

Further problems may be observed by applications in the situations described below.

What actions do I need to take?
For All Broker Version 6 Installations:

JRE
All customers operating in a time zone affected by these DST changes are required to upgrade their JRE Service Release to a release which includes the DST changes.
This is because the Broker Runtime and Broker Toolkit use the JRE for many internal components.

Information on which JRE Service releases are required for each DST change, and how to upgrade to these are available in the JRE columns of the table below.
Some customers will require additional Runtime and Toolkit fixes:

Broker Runtime fix required
If users have any interactions with an affected time zone between the TIMESTAMP, GMTTIMESTAMP, TIME or GMTTIME types within ESQL or Mapping node with TIMESTAMP conversion (as this generates ESQL).

Broker Runtime and Toolkit fix required
If using MRM wire format defined with an affected time zone at message set level other than "Use Broker Locale" and who have the "Daylight Saving Time" box checked.

Information on the Broker Runtime and Toolkit fixes required for each DST change are available in the Broker Runtime and Toolkit columns of the table below.

No action is required for Gregorian Leap Year changes.

* Note1: All Customers operating in the affected time zone must apply

* Note2: On HP-UX, the
IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java does not run on the Java 1.3.1 JREs shipped with WebSphere Message Broker.

* Note3:
On z/OS, a JRE is not shipped with the WebSphere Message Broker product or Fix Packs. For this platform it will be necessary to use the IBM Time Zone Update Utility for Java to apply the DST fix to the JRE supplied by the Operating System.

* Note4: If running at V6 FixPack 3 On Linux® PPC, you should also download and install APAR IY91501.

Category 3 SupportPacs
No Issues have been identified with the Category 3 Broker SupportPacs themselves.
