Abstract

If you installed WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2, you must remove it or future upgrades might be affected.

If you installed WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2, you must remove it. It has been determined that Interim Fix 2 might affect future upgrades of WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2, in addition to upgrades of the following products that can share a common WebSphere Application Server instance with WebSphere Business Monitor:

WebSphere Business Services Fabric V6.2
WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus V6.2
WebSphere Process Server V6.2

If you require the fixes from WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2 (except for the fixes to Business Space), you must install WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 3.

If you require fixes for the following issues in Business Space:
  • After migrating to WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 from a previous version, migrated Business Space widgets do not work.
  • In the Dimensions and Reports widgets, the Show Instances ("drillthrough") feature does not work correctly. When you select the Show Instances item from the context menu of a cell in the grid, an error message, DrillThrough using <Dimension Name> dimension is not currently supported, is displayed.

you must also install WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix JR32528. (Fixes for these issues in the portlet-based dashboards are included in Interim Fix 3).

Use the instructions below to remove WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2.


Uninstalling Interim Fix 2

Note: To uninstall WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2, you must stop the server. In a network deployment environment, you must also stop the node agent and deployment manager.

  1. Launch the Update Installer.
  2. Select Uninstall maintenance package.
  3. Select the WebSphere Business Monitor installation location from where you are removing WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2.
  4. Ensure that you have selected the correct interim fix (6.2.0.0-WS-WBM-IF0000002.pak) and click Next to uninstall the interim fix.
  5. Verify that the Success message is displayed.

Restoring support applications after successful uninstalling

After successfully uninstalling WebSphere Business Monitor V6.2 Interim Fix 2, you must manually update the following monitor JCA applications to the previous version for each WebSphere Business Monitor server, stand-alone and in a network topology:


Business Space Widgets
<monitor_root>/installableApps/BSpaceWidgets.ear

Mobile Dashboard
<monitor_root>/installableApps.wbm/MobileDashboard.ear

MSS Services
<monitor_root>/installableApps.wbm/IBM_WBM_MSS_SERVICE.ear

Note: In step 4b of the procedure documented at the above location, where you use the update wizard to specify or edit application binding information, do not modify any information. Click Next on each page of the wizard until you reach the last page, then continue with step 5 (where you will click Finish on the last page of the wizard).
