How do I search for technical support information about WebSphere products that have reached end of support?
|
| | | Abstract | | What is the 'WebSphere End of Support Products' link/option on the WebSphere software support web site? We have added a choice for "WebSphere End of Support Products" in the list of product support pages on the WebSphere software support web page. What is this option and what products are covered on this page? | | | | | | Content | The WebSphere End of Support Products page contains technical support content (Technotes, Technical Papers and Downloads) for products releases that have reached End of Support of WebSphere products. These products are no longer developed and no longer supported by software engineers, either by phone or electronic support. This content, which is no longer maintained or updated, is provided as an "as-is," self-help option for those customers using End of Support versions of WebSphere software.
Newer versions of WebSphere software offer both updated features and defect fixes. Many are updated for use on newer operating systems.
The IBM Software Support Lifecycle web site lists the lifecycle of each product, including the date the product was available for purchase to the last day the product was supported. You can use this information to plan your software investment and avoid breaks in support. Any WebSphere software not found on the IBM Software Support Lifecycle web page has probably been out of support for longer than two years.
Detailed explanations of IBM Software's support lifecycle can be found in IBM Software Support Lifecycle Policy.
Information about our expanded lifecycle support policy, for our IBM WebSphere Application Server products, can be found in Support Policy Change: Announcing the new "5 plus 3" support policy.
In some cases, you may be running an IBM product that is within its support lifecycle, but it bundles or comes with, an IBM product that has ended its own product lifecycle. This may happen in the case of older versions of WebSphere Application Server. For example, if your product contains a WebSphere Application Server that has reached its end of support lifecycle (V5.1), you are still entitled to technical customer support for all of your product. You may also to continue to search our robust on-line technical support content by using the WebSphere End of Support Products web page as your source for all your WebSphere Application Server V5.1 data. | | | | | | | | | Cross Reference information | | Segment | Product | Component | Platform | Version | Edition | | Application Servers | WebSphere Application Server | | AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris, Windows | | | | Application Servers | WebSphere Application Server - Express | | | | | | Application Servers | WebSphere Application Server for z/OS | | | | |
