- FixPaks 4 and higher require DB2 V7.2 GA or DB2 V7.1 with FixPak 3.
- FixPak 3 will migrate DB2 V7.1 environments to DB2 V7.2 GA.
- Always read the documentation that comes with each FixPak including Release Notes, Readmes, and lists of fixed APARs. These documents are located in the same FTP directories as the FixPak code itself.
- DB2 FixPaks can be very large, often several hundred megabytes. Occasionally, the server connection can be dropped during download. To avoid having to start your download from the beginning, we recommend using an FTP client that supports FTP restart so that you can resume your download at the point when the connection was dropped. Check your FTP client's documentation to determine if FTP restart is supported and, if so, how to use it.
- NLV (National Language Version) FixPaks are used for all non-English versions of DB2 on OS/2 and Windows platforms. If you are using an English version of DB2 on an OS/2 or Windows platform, please select an English FixPak. If you are using a non-English version of DB2 on an OS/2 or Windows platform, please use other languages for OS/2 and Windows. All other platforms include English and non-English versions in the same FixPak.
- Customers with a current support contract can also order DB2 FixPaks on CD-ROM by calling DB2 Support.
- * Attention FixPak 8 customers: If you are using DB2 V7 FixPak 8, IBM recommends that you either apply a special FixPak 8 eFix or install a more recent FixPak. If you choose to stay at the FixPak 8 level, you can download the FixPak 8 eFix from the same FTP directories as the FixPak 8 packages (see below). The eFix packages are named like "special_PTFnumber.tar / .zip", depending on your platform. Please note that the FixPak 8 eFix will update your DB2 product signature:
- 7.1.0.75 for all 32-bit DB2 installations
- 7.1.1.75 for Sun, HP-UX, or AIX 4.3.3 64-bit DB2 installations
- 7.1.2.75 for AIX 5 64-bit DB2 installations
