Troubleshooting
Problem
After a successfully installation of the TDI CE into Eclipse using the Eclipse Update Manager, the TDI CE Perspective is not visible when the Open Perspective is viewed.
Symptom
- with Initial Plug-in Install:
- 1. A successful installation with Eclipse Update Manager has been completed.
2. All instructions at "Installing or Updating using the Eclipse Update Manager" have been followed.
3. Open perspective by going to "Window > Open Perspective > Other"
4. "Tivoli Directory Integrator" Perspective is not an option.
- with Re-Install of Plug-in:
- Reinstall looks to finish successfully, although the same results as above will be seen.
Cause
For both an Install or Reinstall, the cause could be related to a dependence failure:
- Review the "com.ibm.tdi.loader" and "com.ibm.tdi.rcp" for any failing dependencies.
- Depending if these is a new Install or Re-install the dependance may vary.
Environment
TDI v7.0.0.1, Eclipse Version: 3.4.1 (Build id: M20080911-1700)
Resolving The Problem
- For Initial Plug-in Install:
- The failing dependency can be resolved by installing the following package, via the Eclipse Update Manager.
- For Re-Install of Plug-in:
- The failing dependency can be resolved by installing the following package, via the Eclipse Update Manager.
Conclusion:
- Before restarting Eclipse be sure to have the following lines in the "eclipse/configuration/config.ini" file.
