Abstract
This Knowledge Collection provides an overview of the information provided by Tivoli for addressing the impact of Daylight Saving Time and Time Zone changes outside the United States, Canada, and Bermuda. Details on each country change will be provided in the content.

Venezuela:
At 11:59:59 PM, Venezuelan local time, on 12/09/2007 clocks will move backwards 30 minutes from OTC-4.00 to UTC -4:30, or to 11:30 PM local time rather than advancing to midnight. Systems and applications that support users, transactions, or applications involving Venezuela could be affected.

New Zealand:

New Zealand has extended Daylight Saving Time (DST).

DST will start one week earlier than usual, on 30 September 2007, instead of the first Sunday in October. It it will end two weeks later, on 6 April 2008, instead of the third Sunday in March. Systems and applications that process dates and times will be affected by this change.

If no action is taken, computers and applications that use local time will be off by one hour for one week the first week in October, the last two weeks in March, and the first week in April.


What do I need to do to protect my Tivoli Directory Integrator?

Like most software, the IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator (TDI) relies upon 2 main systems to provide time and date services:

  • The operating system runtime environment
  • The JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE)

Fixes for the operating system and JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE) must be applied separately.
