PartnerCharSet Property in WebSphere Adapter for SAP/WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for mySAP becomes obsolete when connecting to Unicode SAP System
|
| | | Abstract | | When connecting to an Unicode SAP system, the Partner Char Set property is not necessary as the adapter will properly display all characters in Unicode. | | | | | | Content | | The Partner Character Set property of the adapter that defines the encoding/codepage of the partner SAP EIS.
If the user is connecting to a non-Unicode SAP system, it is important to provide the codepage of the SAP system (for example MS932) as value to the Partner Char Set property. Otherwise, the characters are not correctly displayed on adapter side.
It is not necessary to set the Partner Character Set when connecting to a Unicode SAP system. Once connected to an Unicode SAP system, the outcome will be always Unicode (UTF-16). The Partner Character Set no longer needs to be explicitly specified because the SAP JCo API will always output characters in codepage UTF-16, according to SAP Note 794411. | | | | | | | | | |
