Support for WebSphere MQ V5.3 with Interchange Server and Adapter Framework beyond the end of service date

Abstract
WebSphere MQV5.3 runs out of service on 28 Sep 2007. WebSphere Interchange Server V4.3 and Adapter Framework V2.6, however, are supported longer and require WebSphere MQ 5.3 or V6.0.

The WebSphere MQ support team has an agreement with the Interchange Server and Adapter Framework support that WebSphere MQ V5.3 will still be supported as an included part of Interchange Server 4.3 and Adapter Framework V2.6 ONLY until their future end of service date.

If WebSphere MQ V5.3 is used for any other purpose after its end of service date, as a standalone product or on the application side of the WBI Adapter for MQ or JMS, it will not be supported, and the client has to upgrade to WebSphere MQ V6.0.

The end of service (EOS) dates for WebSphere MQ, Interchange Server, and Adapter Framework are available at the following site:

1) WebSphere MQ V5.3 on most distributed platforms goes out of support on 28 Sep 2007.
2) WebSphere Interchange Server V4.2.2 and Interchange Server V2.4 went out of support on 30 Apr 2007.
3) WebSphere Interchange Server V4.3 and Adapter Framework 2.6 will still be supported. An EOS date has not been set and will be announced with one year notice in advance.

To keep yourself up-to-date, monitor the product lifecycle web sites regularly.

The WebSphere MQ support team has an agreement with the Interchange Server and Adapter Framework support that WebSphere MQ V5.3 will still be supported as an included part of Interchange Server V4.3 and Adapter Framework 2.6 ONLY until the future end of support dates of both products.

If the customer is using WebSphere MQ V5.3 for any other purpose after the end of service date, 28 Sep 2007, as a stand-alone product or on the application side of the WebSphere Business Integration Adapter for MQ or JMS, it will not be supported and the client has to upgrade to MQ V6.0.

In general, IBM recommends to upgrade to the latest CSD levels of WebSphere MQ that are compatible with the Adapter Framework V2.6 and Interchange Server V4.3.
