Required WebSphere Interim Fixes for WebSphere Portal version 6.1

Abstract
The fixes listed below are found to be required for the proper operation of IBM WebSphere Portal version 6.1 when installed with IBM WebSphere Application Server version 6.1.0.15 or higher. Future fix packs for the Application Server should incorporate these fixes, however the user is advised to ensure the fixes they need for their Portal environment are included in any subsequent update. Also listed are fixes found to be necessary for the Extended Deployment product.
 
 
Content
These fixes are required on top of WebSphere Application Server v6.1.0.15 or higher, and are installed by default when installing the portal with its own instance of the Application Server, using the installation media as provided. If you instead choose to install your own instance of the Application Server, you may use the fixes found on the installation CDs or images for WebSphere Portal or retrieve them individually from the product support page.

The following IBM® Java™ SDK updates are required as documented in the technote "WebSphere Application Server fix required immediately following v6.1 installation" (#1308681):
  • PK67800 for Microsoft Windows, which includes SR7 + IZ22181, IZ21518, IZ21534 and IZ22438
  • PK67322 for all Linux platforms, which includes SR7 + IZ21518 and IZ22438
  • PK67324 for IBM AIX, which includes SR7 + IZ21518, IZ22438 and IZ23340
*Note: the installable files for these fixes are not included on the media for WebSphere Portal version 6.1. They must be downloaded from the product support site, as is documented in the technote "WebSphere Application Server fix required immediately following v6.1 installation" (#1308681).

The required fixes for the Extended Deployment product include:

  2. 6.1.0.1-WS-WXD-IFPK65856.pak

Be sure to also install any other fixes recommended or required for these products, as recommended by the IBM product-specific support teams.
