Question

Is Java API for XML Web Services (JAX-WS) supported with WebSphere Portal V6.1?

Answer

WebSphere Portal version 6.1.0.1 (and higher) supports using WebSphere Application Server version 7.0 for installation and runtime, which provides the Java API for XML Web Services (JAX-WS) 2.1 implementation that can be used in customer code. WebSphere Portal V6.1.0.x does not leverage JAX-WS for our webservcies but customer components can.
WebSphere Portal V6.1.0x is not supported with the IBM WebSphere Application Server Version 6.1 Feature Pack for Web Services, which includes support for the Java API for XML Web Services (JAX-WS) 2.0 programming model.
