4. The Tivoli Storage Manager device driver does not support DVD-RAM drives. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to attach the device to your server. The device driver for Hitachi DVD-RAM is available at:

5. The LABEL LIBVOL command is not supported. Use DVDForm utility to label the DVD disk.

6. ELEMent=AUTODetect in the DEFINE/UPDATE DRIVE command is not supported.

7. DVD media cannot be checked in from mailslot. SEARCH=Bulk in the CHECKIN LIBVOLUME commands is not supported.

8. DVD media cannot be checked out through mailslot. REMove=Bulk in the CHECKOUT LIBVOLUME command is not supported.

9. DISC NSM Series libraries are available with the following DVD drives.

• Panasonic SW9571
• Panasonic SW9582
• Panasonic SW9583
• Panasonic SW9585
• Hitachi GF2050 DVD-RAM

10. DISC NSM Series libraries with DVD-RAM drives are supported only on Windows 2000.


Known Problems

Dismount Failure

You may see the following error messages during a dismount volume operation or when a volume is dismounted due to the expiration of the mount retention time.

ANR8943E Hardware or media error on library A_LIB (OP=8401C058, CC=317, KEY=04, ASC=53, ASCQ=00, SENSE=70.00.04.00.00.00.00.2D.00.00.00.00.53.00.00.00.00.00.0-0.00.,
Description=Media is not ejected from source drive). Refer to Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for recommended action.
ANR8469E Dismount of REMOVABLEFILE volume VOL3 from drive DRIVE1 (j:) in library A_LIB failed.
ANR1410W Access mode for volume VOL3 now set to "unavailable".
ANR8475I Dismount of volume VOL3 failed. It may still be in the drive.

This problem has been fixed in TSM 5.3.2.

Library and drive may require different minimum Tivoli Storage Manager levels. Therefore, ensure that both library and drive hardware are supported. See " Supported Devices for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris and Windows" or " Supported Devices for Linux" for minimum supported version levels and platforms for these devices.
