Overland REO Series is a disk-based backup and recovery appliance emulating tape libraries such as Overland NEO Series, and HP Ultrium 2 tape drives. The VTL can also be configured to return product ID "REO Series" to distinguish that it is a disk-based device.

Overland REO Series device can emulate

• up to 64 HP Ultrium 2 virtual tape drives or
• a virtual library with up to 32 virtual tape drives or
• up to 4 virtual libraries with up to 16 drives and 180 virtual cartridges per virtual library

Notes:

1. Barcodes are supported.

2. ELEMent=AUTODetect in the DEFINE/UPDATE DRIVE command is supported.

3. When defining device class for Overland REO Series, use

• devtype=LTO
• format=<DRIVE>

5. The iSCSI interface is supported only on Windows. An iSCSI HBA is required. Microsoft iSCSI Software Initiator is not supported by the Tivoli Storage Manager device driver.

Library and drive may require different minimum Tivoli Storage Manager levels. Therefore, ensure that both library and drive hardware are supported. See " Supported Devices for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris and Windows" or " Supported Devices for Linux" for minimum supported version levels and platforms for these devices.
