  • Device capacity
    2 drives 24 slots
  • Eight-character barcode labels are required. Character 7-8 must be media identifiers such as L2 or L3. However, on AIX and Solaris, TSM will use only 6 characters for LTO1 and LTO2 media by default. To use 8 barcode characters with TSM on AIX, install the Atape device driver version 9.5.8.0 or later, and use the Set the TSM Barcode Length for Ultrium 1/2 Media option in SMIT to set the barcode length to 8. See LTO barcode tape labels length reported by platform for more barcode information.
  • Make sure the Barcode Scanner Mode is set to report all 8 barcode characters. The default setting "Default" for the Barcode Scanner Mode reports only 6 characters.
From the front panel, select Setup --> scanner --> Set the option to "Extended".
  • Device identification and firmware level used during validation process.
