Notes:
    1. Firmware level during validation
        • Library: 2.03
        • Drives: Quantum DLT7000 1E48
    2. This validation only applies to the SCSI interface of the library.
    3. The following options should be set during configuration:
        • SCSI Parity Checking - Enabled
        • I/E configured as 4 elements
            • Magazine 0 Index 288 Import
            • Magazine 0 Index 289 Export
            • Magazine 1 Index 290 Import
            • Magazine 1 Index 291 Export
        • Automatic Media Inventory after SCSI Reset - Disabled
        • Automatic Media Inventory after Unsafe/Media Change - Disabled
    4. When the I/E unit is configured as 4 elements, slot 288 and 289 share one physical slot which is located underneath magazine 0. Slot 290 and 291 share the other physical slot which is located underneath magazine 1.
    5. The I/E ports may be configures as two elements:
        • Magazine 0 Index 288 Import
        • Magazine 1 Index 289 Export
    6. Using library firmware revision 2.03, it is NOT recommended to configure the I/E ports as two elements with:
        • Magazine 0 Index 288 Export
        • Magazine 1 Index 289 Import
    7. Ensure that the tapes are loaded properly in the magazines. The removable magazines should be placed in the I/E units correctly to avoid any possible abnormal state report of the tapes.
    8. Barcode label for tapes in the library is fully supported. However, there is no barcode for I/E ports. The barcode reader cannot reach the I/E ports.
    9. Breece Hill provided barcode must be used for Breece Hill libraries.

Library and drive may require different minimum Tivoli Storage Manager levels. Therefore, ensure that both library and drive hardware are supported. See "Supported Devices for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris and Windows" or "Supported Devices for Linux" for minimum supported version levels and platforms for these devices.

More information regarding device configuration is available in the Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator's Guide, which can be found in the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager information center.
