Question

This document describes the warnings for the Tivoli Storage Manager V5.5 Macintosh Backup-Archive Client.

Answer

Tivoli Storage Manager Client Warnings

  • VIRTUALMOUNTPOINT processing
Previously, when you specify a virtualmountpoint option, the path that it specifies was added to the domain ALL-LOCAL. Now, all network virtalmountpoints will be added to the ALL-NFS domain, all LOFS virtualmountpoints will be added to the ALL-LOFS domain and all local virtualmountpoints will be added to the ALL-LOCAL domain.

Client Warnings for Macintosh
  • Case Sensitive HFS+ support
MacOS X supports an optional Case Sensitive HFS+ filesystem. Before backing up any files in that filesystem ensure the new Case Sensitive HFS+ volume does not have the same name as any existing TSM volumes for the node. Either the TSM volumes can be renamed on the TSM server, or the CS HFS+ volume can be renamed locally.
